Diablo 2 speedrunner effortlessly trolls audience by breezily selling ultra-rare rune it’s taken others 20 years to find-
Your wedding day, the birth of a child: life is full of precious moments, but let’s be real, nothing compares to the narcotic thrill of trolling a helpless audience. No one knows that better than Kano, a Diablo 2 Resurrected speedrunner who recently subjected his viewers to emotional whiplash so severe it was probably illegal.
Spotted by GamesRadar, Kano was undertaking a world record “1 to ubers” Diablo 2 Resurrected speedrun attempt when—at around eight hours into his stream—a defeated enemy spat out a Zod rune. The chat immediately lost its mind: The Zod rune is the absolute rarest of Diablo 2’s droppable runes. So rare, in fact, that some viewers shouted that they had never seen one in all their years playing. “That’s easily the rarest thing ever dropped in a speed…

The prospect of playing as a ghoul has tempted players ever since we first set eyes on these decrepit, noseless creatures in the first Fallout. The series has had plenty of fantastic ghouls like Dean Domino and Raul Tejada in Fallout: New Vegas, John Hancok in Fallout 4, and the introduction of Chinese Remnant Spies in Fallout 3, who are ancient intelligence operatives that were marooned in the US when the bombs dropped.
They’ve made for great antagonists and companions, but playing as one has always only been possible with mods. Until now, because the online series spinoff Fallout 76 is finally letting players become ghouls.
Bethesda announced the intended changes during the Xbox showcase, but we got to see a sneak peek a bit earlier and discuss the change with …
Read moreI can’t believe this worked- There’s a Task Manager trick to get into Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer hours before launch on Steam-
People say a lot of things on the internet: They say they have screenshots of Half-Life 3. They say it was actually their little brother who said all those terrible things in Fortnite. They say there’s a magic Task Manager ritual you can perform to play Modern Warfare 3 early. You don’t expect them to be true, but now and then, it does happen.
In this case, it turns out you really can get into Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer hours before its PC launch tonight by performing a easy multi-step process involving a Steam copy of the game and the Windows Task Manager. I just played a round of Hardpoint on Invasion.
The trick only works with the Steam version of Modern Warfare 3 as far as we can tell—we tried it with the Battle.net version, and no dice—and you hav…

Destiny 2: The Final Shape will finally end its current, long-running story arc, but will also see the return of a friendly face. Cayde-6 lives.
Or, at least, Cayde-6 appears in the expansion—technical aliveness to be determined. Bungie killed off the fan-favorite robot in 2018 expansion Forsaken, but a teaser shown during today’s PlayStation Showcase (embedded above) sees Cayde catching up on current events from “wherever the hell here is”—inside the Traveler, our resident Destinyhead informs me. Bungie also confirmed in a blog post that actor Nathan Fillion is reprising the role for The Final Saga.
Actually, Bungie doesn’t just say that Fillion is back for the expansion, but that he’s returned to play Cayde in the “Destiny Universe,” which may refer to Bu…
Read moreIf in doubt, use more lube- Wooting’s Lekker V2 switches now have tighter tolerances and more of the slippy stuff, insert your own joke here-
If there’s one thing that differentiates regular PC users from mechanical keyboard fans, it’s a discussion about lube. Y’see, we at PC Gamer have become converts to the benefits of lubed switches in our precious keebs, and we’re not the only ones. A good dose of the slippy stuff used to be something you had to do yourself, but now pre-lubed switches have become something we’re increasingly used to seeing in modern high-end boards.
If you’re a keyboard connoisseur, a good dose of lube is fast becoming something expected—rather than a luxury extra—as it can lead to a silky smooth action. Yep, it’s 2024 folks, and keyboard nerds are the cool kids now. Your time has come.
Wooting has been lubing its switches for some time, but now it’s posted a tweet confirming…

The first Helldivers 2 balance patch went live recently, and it hasn’t gone over well with some players. Those embers of discontent were fanned by a few members of the Helldivers team: A moderator on the game’s Discord server, for instance, said “watching u all cry, amuses me so much,” while another said on Reddit that complaints about weapon nerfs were perhaps in reality a question of “skill issue.”
In response to complaints these comments, including one developer’s self-confessed “trolling,” Arrowhead Games CEO Johan Pilestedt, the de facto public face of the studio, has taken to Reddit to tell the community that “this is not a message that the studio stands behind” and that steps are being taken to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
To my reading, it comes off as developers …

In 2021, developer Felipe “HarvesteR” Falanghe, the creator of Kerbal Space Program, launched a new game on Steam called Balsa Model Flight Simulator. His follow-up to Kerbal reflected much of the same spirit as the space sim that eventually became a PC phenomenon: it was open-ended, focused around building and flying your own vehicles, and based on a childhood passion. As soon as he released the game, Falanghe realized two things.
One: Expectations for early access games have changed a whole lot in 10 years.
Two: There are a whole lot of people who don’t know what balsa wood is, because fragile, dirt cheap model planes aren’t exactly the hottest toy around these days.
“That made me feel appropriately old,” he says. “Now I wonder if I were releasing KSP again, now, if …

Terrifying little goblins are in the spotlight in Crusader Kings 3’s upcoming event pack. I am of course talking about children, the most horrible monsters of all. No, I have not forgiven my nephew for attacking me with a lightsaber. Chosen by the community, the Wards & Wardens pack hones in on the “perils and potentials of being a child ruler”, as well as educating the little blighters and continuing that education into adulthood.
Kids are an important resource in Paradox’s medieval grand strategy RPG, as both potential heirs and marriage candidates. Raise them to rule, marry them off to forge alliances, or just become incredibly disappointed in them as they squander their days tormenting peasants and pestering you incessantly with dumb questions. Sometimes they end up …
Read moreThe Day Before was an even bigger disaster than you thought- devs reportedly made to pay fines for bad work, learned it was an MMO from the trailers, and no one’s sure where the bosses are-
A new documentary from German games sites Game Two and GameStar has shed some more light on the disastrous development of The Day Before, and boy howdy, it’s worse than you thought. Game Two says it spoke to 16 former Fntastic employees, one of its former “volunteers,” and seven staff from The Day Before’s publisher Mytona. The picture they paint is, well, staggering.
Speaking anonymously, Game Two’s sources allege that working at Fntastic—The Day Before’s now-defunct development studio—was pure, megalomaniacal chaos. As they tell it, the game’s development was constantly buffeted by the changing whims of the Gotovtsev brothers, the studio’s founders, and the scope and style of the game would change whenever one of them got their hands on whatever the big game of the m…
